    American Cutter, 1823 - The Ranger was one of the typical American cutters built in the first half of the 19th century and basicallyused fore survallance and coastguard duties. It was armed with a large carronade installed in the centre of the deck that rotated on a circular guideway, permittung rapid fire from both sides of the hull with a single weapon. Note the particular elegant line of the Ranger, emphasised by the depth of the keel at the stern. Given the generic nature of the tasks it performed, no significant events are known in which this type of cutter was involved.

    First rate British ship of the line 1805 - The Victory was built in the 1760's, she was dismantled in 1800 and rebuilt in 1803. The Victory became Lord Nelsons flagship and is a "First rate ship of the line" in the Royal Navy and still a commisioned warship in the Royal Navy today. The Victory has three main gun decks containing 104 cannons. She became famus due to on of the most celibrated naval battles sof moderen times that was fought of f theCape Traffalger on the 21st, October 1805 between the British fleet commanded by Admiral Nelson and the combined Franco-Spanish fleet. Today the H.M.S. Victory is part of the Royal Navy Museum at ortsmouth and she is kept in her owd dry dock where she can be visited by the public.

    Schoner 1851 - America, August 22ns, 1851. The British Royal Yacht Squadron that were racing 14 boats challanged the New York Yacht Club and the "America" schooner to race around the Isle of Wight off the Southeren coast of England. The "America" won the eight minute lead over the second place yacht the British Aurora. Winning that cup that had been held to celebrate London's first Universal show, led to the start of the winners cup that was called the "Hundred Guineas Cup". More recently it has changed its name to the "America's Coup Series" and the cup has its name to the "America's Cup".

    17th century english galleon - The Mayflower famous for beeing the ship that took the "Pilgrim Fathers" across the Atlantic ocean to America. The Mayflower set saol on the 6th, September 1620 from Rlymouth, Devon, England and reached "Cape Cod" America two months later on the 11th, November. The Mayflower was a three masted galleon af around 180 tons. She was captained by the "Pilgrim Fathers" Carver and Berwster who were considered as amongst the first settlers in North America.

  • H.M.S. Bounty

    18th century small merchant vessell - The Bounty was a small merchant vessel purchesed by the " Royal Navy" for botanical expedition leaving England on the 23rd , December 1787 under the command of William Blight. The Bounty sailed from Spithead en route for Tahiti to acquire breadfruit plants and then transport them to the British colonies in the West Indies. Unfortunatley the mission was never compleated due to mutiny led by acting Lieutenant Fletcher Christian tha took place on the 28th, April 1789. Captain Bligh and the 18 men that stayed loyal to him were cast adrift on the Pacific Ocean in the ships boat. They managed to travel 4000 miles due to the expert navigational skills of Captain Bligh to East Timor in the Duch Indies from where they were rescued by British naval expedition and returned home. The mutineers were almost all captured and punished.
